Geographically speaking, Innes Ward’s boundaries are St-Joseph Boulevard to the North, Mer Bleue Road to the East, the Old CPR railway to the South as well as Blair Road and Highway 174 to the West. But simply put, the communities of Blackburn Hamlet, Notre Dame des Champs, Chapel Hill, Chateau Neuf and Orleans Gardens make up the heart of Innes Ward.
Approximately 38,000 people living in over 12,000 homes form this residential part of Ottawa, also known as Ward 2. It is a great place to raise kids, with quiet residential streets, 34 charming parks (including a golf course), and convenient stores and restaurants. In addition, the area boasts 10 elementary schools, one alternate high school and two French high schools – one public, one catholic. Innes Ward is also a unique community because a vast number of our residents are bilingual. There is a strong Francophone population with close to 20,000 residents who speak both French and English. As for City Services, Ward 2 is well served. Fourteen bus routes pass through our streets, six Express and eight regular. We also have a number of projects on the go to help improve these services. They range from the Innes Road expansion to the planned renovations on St-Joseph Boulevard. All these improvements will help make our area even more enjoyable.
